About this course
Esports, the organised competitive play of video games, has grown from a niche online subculture into a global industry worth billions of pounds annually, with professional leagues, stadium events, dedicated broadcast channels, major sponsorship deals and career pathways that did not exist a decade ago. Studying esports as a degree subject means taking that industry seriously and developing the business, analytical and professional skills needed to work within it. At the University of Chichester, the three-year full-time BA programme examines the esports industry as a whole, exploring its structure and economics, the communities that sustain it, the media and broadcast dimensions of competitive gaming, the health and performance dimensions of professional play, and the career pathways available across the sector. You will develop an understanding of esports organisations, tournament man
