Geography is one of the broadest and most inherently interdisciplinary of university subjects, spanning the physical processes that shape the Earth's surface, the human societies and economies that inhabit it, and the environmental challenges that arise from the complex relationships between the two. Studying geography means developing fluency in both the natural sciences and the social sciences, moving between quantitative field and laboratory methods and the qualitative approaches of social and cultural analysis.
