Modern languages and economics is a combination designed for a world in which global economic activity is conducted in multiple languages and across multiple cultural contexts. Language study develops your ability to communicate fluently in another tongue and to understand the social, cultural, and historical contexts that shape how people in other countries think and do business. Economics provides the theoretical frameworks and quantitative tools to understand how markets work, how international trade operates, and what drives prosperity and inequality at national and global levels.
