About this course

Veterinary medicine and surgery is one of the most demanding and rewarding degree programmes in higher education. It trains students to diagnose, treat, and prevent disease in animals across a huge range of species, from companion animals and farm livestock to wildlife and zoo animals. The profession requires deep knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, and clinical medicine, combined with the manual skill and compassionate judgement to apply that knowledge to patients who cannot describe their symptoms. This five-year full-time programme at Harper and Keele Veterinary School is delivered across two campuses: Harper Adams University's agricultural campus in Shropshire and Keele University's medical science facilities in Staffordshire.
