Architectural engineering is the discipline that stands at the junction of architecture and building engineering, concerned with the technical performance and structural design of the built environment. It addresses how buildings are made to work as well as how they look: how they are structured to stand safely, how they perform in terms of energy efficiency and thermal comfort, how their environmental systems function, and how all of these technical dimensions can be integrated with the architectural vision for a building.
