Electrical and electronic engineering sits at the core of modern technology, responsible for the systems that generate and distribute electrical power, the circuits and devices inside every consumer electronics product, the communications networks that connect the world, and the sensors and control systems used across industry, transport, and healthcare. It is a discipline that combines rigorous mathematical and physical science with the creative design of systems that perform real functions under real constraints. At the University of Nottingham this four-year full-time programme includes a foundation year, providing students with the additional preparation needed to enter degree-level engineering study from a broader range of backgrounds.
