About this course
Electronic and electrical engineering shapes the world in ways that are easy to overlook precisely because the technology it produces is so ubiquitous. From the World Wide Web and global mobile phone networks to laptop computers, electric vehicles and renewable energy sources, the discipline is responsible for an enormous range of the systems that modern life depends on. Electronic engineering focuses on the design and development of electronic circuits, devices and systems, while electrical engineering deals with power generation, transmission and distribution. Together they cover a spectrum of challenges from the microscopic, designing semiconductor devices, to the very large, designing national grid infrastructure. At Swansea University you will study this three-year full-time programme, developing a thorough grounding in both the theoretical foundations and the practical engineering
