About this course

Electrical and electronic engineering is the discipline that designs and builds the systems on which modern civilisation depends: power grids and renewable energy infrastructure, communications networks, computing hardware, sensors and control systems, and the electronics embedded in everything from household appliances to aircraft and medical devices. It requires rigorous training in the principles of electric circuits, electromagnetic theory, digital systems, signal processing, and the mathematics that underlies all of these, combined with practical design and problem-solving skills that allow engineers to apply that knowledge in real systems. At Leicester this three-year full-time programme addresses both current and future industrial needs, with specialisms available in hybrid and electric aviation, e-transportation and sustainable energy, and the Internet of Things.
