About this course

Environmental management is the applied discipline concerned with how organisations, governments and communities understand and manage their impact on the natural environment, and how they can operate more sustainably within ecological limits. It draws on environmental science, ecology, policy, economics, law and management to address questions about how natural resources are used and protected, how environmental risks are assessed and mitigated, and how the transition to a lower-carbon, more sustainable economy can be managed in practice. As sustainability moves from the periphery to the centre of organisational strategy, the demand for graduates who can think and work across the technical and managerial dimensions of this challenge has grown considerably.
