Neuroscience is the scientific study of the nervous system, concerned with understanding how the brain and the rest of the nervous system develop, function, and fail. It is one of the most rapidly advancing areas in all of biomedical science, bringing together molecular and cellular biology, physiology, psychology, and increasingly computational methods to address questions about perception, cognition, memory, emotion, and the neural basis of neurological and psychiatric conditions. The field sits at one of the most exciting frontiers of human knowledge, with new discoveries regularly transforming our understanding of how minds and brains work.
