Professional and intercultural communication addresses one of the defining challenges of contemporary working life: communicating effectively across cultural, organisational and linguistic contexts in an environment where business is increasingly global and workforces are increasingly diverse. The discipline examines how English functions as a lingua franca in professional and international settings, how communication styles and expectations differ across cultures, and how the ability to navigate these differences with skill and awareness becomes a genuine professional asset. It draws on applied linguistics, communication theory, cultural studies and business communication to build both analytical understanding and practical capability.
