Aerospace engineering is the discipline concerned with the design, development and testing of aircraft, spacecraft, rockets and the systems that sustain flight and space operations. It draws on aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, materials, avionics and systems engineering, applying them to the extraordinary engineering challenge of making machines that fly reliably and safely in some of the most demanding environments imaginable.
