Cybersecurity is the discipline concerned with protecting digital systems, networks, and data from unauthorised access, disruption, and attack. As organisations and individuals depend ever more heavily on digital infrastructure, the significance of the security professionals who defend it grows accordingly. Cybersecurity is both technically demanding and strategically important: effective security requires understanding not just the technical vulnerabilities of systems but the human, organisational, and legal dimensions of how security policies are designed, implemented, and maintained.
