Drama is the art of making human experience visible and meaningful through live performance. It sits at the intersection of literature, history, politics, and collective imagination, drawing on traditions stretching back to ancient Greece and continuously reinvented by every generation of theatre makers. At its core, drama asks what it means to be human, and it investigates that question in public, in real time, in front of an audience. At Edge Hill University, you will develop both as a practitioner and a critical thinker. You will explore performance skills alongside an examination of theatre's social and political role in the twenty-first century, considering how performance can challenge power, represent marginalised communities, and shape public discourse.
