About this course
Electrical energy systems addresses one of the defining challenges of the twenty-first century: how to generate, transmit, store and use electrical energy in ways that are efficient, reliable and compatible with decarbonisation. Electrical energy underpins manufacturing, transport, heating, lighting and virtually every dimension of modern technological life, and the transition from fossil fuels to renewable electricity is one of the central engineering tasks of our era. The discipline brings together power electronics, electrical machines, power systems, control engineering and energy policy to address that challenge from multiple angles. At the University of Strathclyde you will study electrical energy systems over five years of full-time study, on a Master of Engineering programme that provides the depth of knowledge and technical capability needed to work at the forefront of this rap
