About this course

Broadcast journalism is the discipline that translates events, ideas, and public issues into stories told through radio, television, and digital media. It demands a particular combination of skills: the journalistic instinct to identify what matters and why, the reporting craft to gather accurate information under time pressure, and the technical and presentational abilities to communicate that information compellingly to a mass audience. Broadcast journalists work across a range of formats and platforms, from breaking news and investigative reporting to documentary, current affairs, and live studio production. The three-year full-time Broadcast Journalism programme at the University of Salford is ideally placed for this kind of training.
