About this course

Politics and business management sit in a productive tension with each other. Politics examines how power is acquired, exercised and constrained, how public policy is made and how democratic and non-democratic systems function across different national and international contexts. Business management brings frameworks for understanding how organisations are structured, how decisions are made and how resources are directed. The two disciplines are more closely related than they might initially appear: businesses operate in political and regulatory environments that shape every major decision, and political actors depend on their understanding of economic and commercial forces to govern effectively.
