Developmental psychology is the branch of psychology concerned with how human beings change across the lifespan, from the cognitive, emotional, and social development of infants and children through to the changes of adolescence, adulthood, and old age. It asks fundamental questions about the relative contributions of biology and experience to who we become, how language and reasoning emerge in early childhood, how relationships and attachment shape social development, and how people adapt to the challenges and transitions of later life.
