About this course

Architecture is the discipline of designing and shaping the built environment, from individual buildings to the spaces between them. It requires creative vision, technical rigour, and an understanding of how the structures we build affect the lives of the people who inhabit them and the health of the natural world around them. At its best, architecture responds to human need with intelligence and care, creating spaces that endure and enrich. At Glasgow School of Art, the Bachelor of Architecture programme takes a studio-based approach in which learning happens through making, experimenting, and engaging with real design challenges rather than through passive instruction.
