Biology is the science of life in all its forms, from the molecular mechanisms that power individual cells to the ecological relationships that sustain entire biomes. It encompasses genetics, evolution, physiology, biochemistry, ecology, microbiology and cell biology, and it underpins everything from medicine and agriculture to conservation and biotechnology. Studying biology develops your ability to think scientifically, to design and interpret experiments, and to engage with the evidence base that drives progress in the life sciences.
