From turbines and engines to robots, medical devices, manufacturing equipment and renewable energy systems, mechanical engineers create the physical technologies that underpin industrial and technological life. At the University of Derby, this part-time programme includes a foundation year, a sandwich year, a year abroad and a work placement, recognising that students come with different levels of preparation and benefit from different kinds of professional experience alongside their studies
