About this course
Sport and exercise science applies the methods of physiology, biomechanics, and psychology to understanding how the human body performs under exercise and how physical activity relates to health and wellbeing. It is a discipline with direct relevance both to elite sporting performance and to the wider public health challenge of encouraging physical activity across the population. At Teesside University, this three-year full-time programme introduces you to human anatomy and physiology with a focus on the body systems most relevant to sport, exercise, and health-related performance. You will explore the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, neuromuscular, and endocrine systems, examining how they contribute to movement, energy production, and human health and performance.
