Mechanical Engineering (+ Foundation year)
BEng · Harper Adams University · 5 years
About this course
Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest and most versatile of the engineering disciplines, applying the principles of physics, mathematics and materials science to the design, analysis, manufacture and maintenance of mechanical systems. From the engines that propel aircraft and the turbines that generate electricity to the precision components in medical devices and the structural systems of bridges and buildings, mechanical engineering shapes the physical world in almost every direction. At Harper Adams University this five-year programme includes a foundation year, providing a supported entry into engineering study before the main BEng begins. The foundation year develops the mathematical, scientific and academic skills you need to succeed in engineering study, building the confidence and knowledge base that makes the transition into degree-level work smoother and more effective
