Dual-field nursing programmes are an increasingly valued route into the profession, producing graduates who can work across two of nursing's core fields and respond flexibly to the complex needs of patients whose physical and mental health are deeply interconnected. Adult nursing addresses the care of adults across the full range of physical health conditions, while mental health nursing focuses on supporting people experiencing mental illness, psychological distress and the complex needs that often accompany long-term mental health conditions.
