Post-primary education prepares you to teach at secondary school level, developing the deep subject knowledge, pedagogical skills and professional judgement needed to support young people's learning through the critical years of adolescence. Teaching at secondary level requires more than content expertise: it demands the ability to present complex ideas accessibly, to understand how young people learn and what gets in the way of learning, to build positive relationships with students and their families, and to respond to the diverse needs of classrooms that reflect the full range of human ability and background.
