About this course

Diagnostic radiography is the clinical profession responsible for producing the medical images that underpin diagnosis across the full range of healthcare settings. Radiographers work with X-ray, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound and other imaging technologies, producing the images that allow clinicians to identify fractures, tumours, vascular conditions, organ abnormalities and a wide range of other pathologies. The role requires both technical mastery of complex imaging equipment and the ability to care for patients, many of whom are anxious, unwell or in pain, with professionalism and compassion. At London South Bank University, this three-year full-time programme includes a foundation year, providing an extended entry route that builds the scientific and academic foundations needed for degree-level study in a health profession.
