Midwifery is one of the oldest and most important professions in healthcare, supporting women through pregnancy, labour, and the postnatal period and providing care to newborns during their first days of life. It demands clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, the capacity to work under pressure, and a deep commitment to the wellbeing of women and their families at one of the most significant moments of their lives. Pre-registration midwifery training leads directly to qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
