About this course

Environmental science is an interdisciplinary field that draws on biology, chemistry, geography, and the earth sciences to understand the natural systems that support life on Earth and the ways in which human activity is altering them. It asks how ecosystems function, how pollutants behave in water, air, and soil, how climate is changing and what the consequences will be, and how we can monitor, model, and ultimately protect the environments on which we all depend. As the urgency of the environmental crisis has grown, the skills of environmental scientists have never been more in demand.
