About this course
Mathematics and physics are the two most fundamental quantitative sciences, and studying them together provides both intellectual depth and extraordinary flexibility. Mathematics provides the abstract structures and precise reasoning that underpin all of physics, while physics gives mathematics some of its most powerful motivations, asking how the universe can be described in the language of equations and what those equations actually mean about the physical world. Together they develop a capacity for rigorous thought and sophisticated modelling that is among the most transferable of any university education. The University of Dundee's five-year full-time Mathematics and Physics programme is structured at honours level, providing the depth expected of a Scottish integrated master's degree. You will study the full range of mathematical disciplines, including analysis, algebra, calculus,
