Media and communication studies combined with sociology offers a uniquely powerful analytical toolkit for understanding the contemporary world. Media studies asks how information and culture are produced, distributed, and received through different platforms, and how media shapes public knowledge, political life, and social identity. Sociology asks why societies are structured as they are, how inequality is produced and sustained, and how collective life organises itself through institutions, culture, and power.
