Physical Geography is the scientific study of the Earth's surface and the processes that shape it, from the formation of landforms and the dynamics of soils and rivers to the behaviour of the atmosphere, the cryosphere and the oceans. It is a discipline that addresses some of the most consequential questions of our time: how climate systems respond to change, how extreme weather events and natural hazards affect human populations, how landscapes evolve, and how the planet's interconnected physical systems function as a whole.
