About this course

Adult nursing is the largest field within the nursing profession, placing registered nurses at the centre of healthcare delivery across an extraordinary range of settings and patient populations. Adult nurses work with people from late adolescence through to old age, in environments ranging from acute surgical and medical wards and critical care units to community nursing, GP practices, mental health liaison, and long-term condition management. The role combines clinical precision with the human qualities of empathy, communication and resilience that sustaining effective therapeutic relationships over time demands. At Sheffield Hallam University, this three-year full-time programme is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and leads to eligibility to register as an adult nurse.
