About this course

Sport rehabilitation is a clinical profession concerned with the assessment, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal injuries, particularly in sport and physical activity contexts. Sport rehabilitators work alongside physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals to help injured athletes and active individuals recover function, return to sport, and prevent reinjury. The role demands both scientific rigour in understanding injury mechanisms and therapeutic processes, and the interpersonal skills to motivate and support people through demanding rehabilitation journeys. This four-year programme at the University of Cumbria includes a foundation year that provides the academic and scientific preparation you need before progressing to the main degree curriculum.
