Fashion design is one of the most culturally charged of all the creative disciplines. It sits at the intersection of art, commerce, technology, and social history, reflecting and shaping how people present themselves to the world. A fashion design degree is not simply about making clothes: it is about developing a design identity, understanding the relationship between body, garment, and culture, and learning to work within and against the constraints of an industry that operates at the intersection of creativity and commerce. At the University of Chester you will study across three years on a full-time programme, with a year abroad that broadens your creative perspective and exposes you to fashion cultures and industries beyond the UK.
