Applied Biomedical Science is the discipline concerned with the laboratory investigation of human disease and the biological processes that underlie health and illness, with an emphasis on direct application to clinical and healthcare contexts. Biomedical scientists analyse patient samples, develop diagnostic tests, validate new laboratory methods, and contribute to the evidence base that supports clinical decision-making across medicine.
