About this course
Crime scene science applies the methods of natural and forensic science to the investigation of crime. It sits at the boundary between the laboratory and the courtroom, asking how physical evidence, biological material, trace substances, and other remnants at a crime scene can be collected, analysed, and interpreted to support criminal justice processes. The discipline requires both scientific rigour and an understanding of the legal and procedural frameworks within which forensic evidence must be gathered and presented. At Teesside University, this three-year full-time programme gives you a grounding in the scientific principles and practical methods that underpin crime scene investigation.
