About this course

Fashion Design is a discipline that operates at the intersection of creativity, culture, craft and commerce. It asks how clothing communicates identity, how collections are developed from initial concept to finished garment, and how the design process can respond to the cultural, material and social contexts that give fashion meaning. At its most ambitious, fashion design is not simply about producing attractive objects but about expressing ideas, challenging conventions and engaging with the world through form, fabric and the body. It demands both artistic vision and technical mastery of the processes through which that vision is realised.
