About this course

Pharmacy is the health profession concerned with the safe and effective use of medicines, combining deep scientific knowledge with patient-centred clinical practice. Pharmacists understand how drugs work at a molecular level, how the body processes them and how to select, dose, monitor and counsel patients on their use. They work across a wide range of settings, from community pharmacies and hospital wards to research, industry and prescribing roles that have expanded considerably in recent years as the profession's clinical scope has grown. At Queen's University of Belfast the four-year Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) programme integrates scientific and clinical content from the outset, building a comprehensive understanding of how to apply pharmaceutical knowledge to complex clinical problems.
