Sociology with a language is a degree that takes seriously two related forms of understanding: the analytical tools needed to make sense of how societies are organised and the linguistic competence needed to engage with cultures and communities that operate beyond the English-speaking world. Sociology asks how inequality is produced and sustained, how institutions shape individual lives and how social change happens. Adding a language to that foundation opens up the comparative dimension that makes sociological analysis more powerful, giving you access to different national and cultural contexts through their own intellectual and expressive traditions.
