About this course

Chemistry is the science of matter and its transformations. It asks how atoms and molecules are structured, how they interact, what drives chemical reactions, and how new substances can be synthesised and characterised. It is a discipline that sits at the foundation of most of the technologies and products that define modern life, from medicines and materials to fuels, food and electronics, and it connects intimately with biology, physics, engineering and environmental science. At the University of Kent this four-year full-time programme includes a year in industry, giving you the opportunity to gain substantial professional experience in a real chemical or related workplace before your final year. You will develop knowledge and practical skills across the core areas of chemistry, including organic, inorganic and physical chemistry, spectroscopic analysis, computational methods and labo
