Computer science with a specialism in artificial intelligence is a degree that addresses the theoretical foundations of intelligent computational systems alongside the practical skills of building and deploying them. AI sits at the frontier of computer science, drawing on machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, computer vision, robotics and the mathematical underpinnings of all these methods to create systems that can learn from data, recognise patterns and make decisions without being explicitly programmed to do so.
