English literature trains you to read texts closely, to be sensitive to the way language shapes understanding and persuasion, and to think critically about the social and historical context in which texts are produced and received. Law develops your capacity for logical reasoning, for identifying the key principles in complex situations, and for constructing and evaluating legal arguments.
