Learning disability nursing is a specialist branch of nursing concerned with supporting people with learning disabilities to live healthy, fulfilling, and as independent lives as possible. Nurses in this field work across health and social care settings, from community homes and day services to hospitals and specialist residential care, advocating for their patients, managing health needs that are often complex and overlapping, and supporting individuals and their families to navigate systems that can be difficult to access. It is a profession grounded in values of inclusion, dignity, and the belief that every person has the right to the best possible health. At the University of Huddersfield, this three-year full-time programme uses a blended learning approach, which means that teaching is delivered through a combination of online learning and face-to-face academic and clinical session
