Sports journalism sits at the intersection of two fields that command enormous public attention: sport, which generates passionate engagement from audiences all over the world, and journalism, which is responsible for telling stories accurately, fairly, and with the kind of depth and context that transforms a result into something genuinely meaningful. It is a discipline that requires both deep sporting knowledge and rigorous journalistic craft. At the University of Chester this three-year full-time programme develops your skills as a journalist through sport, giving you the practical training in writing, broadcasting, digital publishing, and media law that professional journalism requires, alongside a grounding in the sports industry, sporting culture, and the ethics of sports coverage. You will practise reporting, interviewing, and news writing across print, broadcast, and online form
