About this course

Equine performance and rehabilitation is a specialist applied science degree concerned with how horses move, how they develop and sustain fitness, and how injuries are assessed and managed to return horses to full function. It draws on the principles of anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, and veterinary science, applying them to the particular demands of working and competing horses across a range of disciplines. The field requires both scientific knowledge and highly developed practical skill, and the ability to work sensitively and observantly with horses across all stages of rehabilitation. At Hartpury University, you will develop your expertise in world-class facilities that include a commercial Equine Therapy Centre where horses at a range of competitive levels are rehabilitated.
