Film production is the craft and art of making moving image work for cinema, television, and digital platforms. It encompasses the full range of production disciplines, from development, scripting, and pre-production planning through to cinematography, directing, editing, sound design, and post-production, as well as the producing skills needed to manage budgets, schedules, and creative teams. Studying film production at degree level means developing both practical expertise and a critical understanding of screen media, learning from the history of cinema and from the analytical frameworks that allow you to understand how film communicates and why.
