Philosophy and Modern Greek is an unusual and intellectually stimulating combination that joins one of the great analytical disciplines with the living language of a nation whose ancient predecessor gave Western philosophy many of its founding texts. Philosophy asks what exists, what can be known, how we should live, and what makes reasoning valid: it addresses the deepest questions about mind, reality, ethics, and language. Modern Greek opens the world of contemporary Greek literature, culture, and society, while also providing a connection to the ancient philosophical tradition through the language's direct descent from Attic Greek.
