About this course

Psychology with criminology is a pairing that brings together the scientific study of the human mind with a critical examination of crime, deviance, and the social and institutional responses to them. Psychology provides the theoretical and methodological tools to understand why people think, feel, and behave as they do, including the biological, social, and environmental factors that shape behaviour in ways that may lead to offending or harm. Criminology builds on and extends that understanding, examining crime as a social phenomenon, the workings of criminal justice systems, and the question of whether those systems achieve justice.
