BSc Business And Marketing
About this course
Business and marketing together address the two central questions of commercial life: how organisations create and deliver value, and how they communicate that value to the people who might want it. Business management provides the strategic and operational frameworks for understanding how enterprises are structured, financed, led and grown. Marketing examines the relationship between organisations and their customers, studying consumer behaviour, brand strategy, digital channels, data analytics and the creative and analytical processes that shape how products and services are positioned and sold. In a world where customer expectations are complex and constantly shifting, understanding both sides of this equation is genuinely valuable. At Edge Hill University this three-year, full-time programme opens up the principles and practices of both disciplines, equipping you with the tools to think strategically about business while also mastering the art and science of effective marketing. You will study core business areas including strategy, finance and organisational behaviour alongside marketing topics such as digital marketing, consumer insight, campaign planning, brand management and market research. The programme runs full time and includes a sandwich placement year, a year abroad and work placement opportunities, all of which give you direct professional experience and an international perspective to complement your academic study. Graduates move into careers across marketing, brand management, digital marketing and social media, public relations, market research, product management, commercial management, sales and business development. Many join graduate training schemes with consumer goods companies, retailers, agencies and financial services organisations, while others move into roles in public and third sector organisations that require marketing capability. Postgraduate study in marketing, business administration or consumer psychology is a further option. The programme also confers eligibility for Affiliate Member status of the Chartered Management Institute.
