BA Business Management and Entrepreneurship
About this course
Business management and entrepreneurship is a combination designed for students who want not only to understand how organisations work but to build something of their own. Business management provides the theoretical and practical foundation for understanding strategy, marketing, operations, finance, and leadership in established organisations. Entrepreneurship extends that knowledge into the domain of new venture creation, asking how ideas become businesses, how new markets are identified and developed, and what skills and mindsets distinguish people who create value through innovation and initiative. Together they produce graduates who can think both analytically about business and practically about how to make things happen. At Nottingham Trent University, this three-year full-time programme also includes a year abroad, giving you the opportunity to study in a different entrepreneurial and business environment and broaden your understanding of how enterprise works across different national contexts. NTU has a strong tradition of applied business education and close links with the entrepreneurial community in the East Midlands and beyond, providing a stimulating context for studying these subjects. You will study the core principles of business management alongside entrepreneurial theory, business model design, innovation, start-up finance, and the practical dimensions of launching and growing a new venture. The typical entry tariff of 104 points reflects the programme's welcoming approach to students with entrepreneurial potential and commercial curiosity. Graduates of business management and entrepreneurship go on to start their own businesses, join start-ups and scale-ups, or bring an entrepreneurial mindset to larger organisations in commercial, product, and innovation roles. Many work in business development, new product development, commercial management, and management consultancy. The year abroad adds an international dimension that is valuable in an increasingly global business environment. Postgraduate study in business, management, entrepreneurship, or innovation is a natural next step for those who want to develop their knowledge further before building their own ventures or taking on more senior roles.
